Rawlings Auction Service was the beginning of a family adventure in the early ’90s as a fun side job of the late Robert Rawlings whose primary field of expertise was training racehorses at the Charlestown Races and Slots. Bob began this venture into the auction world with his son Steve working alongside him. As time passed and Bob became quite ill and subsequently passed, the side auction business was left with no leader at the helm. After much thought and consideration, Steve and his wife Patti decided to dive in full time from there, continue in his path and build the company well beyond what Bob ever could have imagined by adding appraisals and real estate as part of the services to be provided and becoming a full-time operation. The business name was changed to its current name, we fully automated all processes and as we grew from the ground up started adding staff.
The business grew quickly. Today, we hold very successful auctions; online, onsite, or at remote locations. Real Estate Auctions have become one of our most sought after services. We sell millions of dollars in real estate annually. Our sellers are not only homeowners but lenders, investors, commercial and industrial property owners, and everyone in between.
The key to our success is hard work, dedication, honesty, and integrity. We demand all of the above. With that dedication, we are able to produce the highest prices for our sellers.

Steve Rawlings has been a Licensed Auctioneer for more than 15 years. He serves Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Steve has also at times obtained special credentials in order to sell in other states. Steve is also a Certified Personal Property Appraiser. These appraisals can be used in any legal proceeding, often for bankruptcy proceedings, business liquidation or estate liquidation. Steve is also a Licensed Real Estate Agent.
Patti Rawlings’ responsibility is in the general operation of the company and the establishment of new business. Patti’s leadership and overall knowledge of all facets of this business makes her an invaluable asset in running a successful operation and insuring that all events are managed properly. Her marketing plans have been key for every successful auction that we have held.
